Bag Piping Tutorial

All the bag piping I found was so damn ugly that I decided I would make my own to match Montanas travel bag.

There may be another way to make it but this is how I figured out to do it.

You buy some of this stuff. It was only marked as 30c per mtr but I think it's nylon cording? It comes in sifferent sizes, decide on what size you want.

You set your machine on a straight stitch with your zipper foot on, get your material and fold about 1.5cms over your cording

Try to keep it tight as you sew

When you come to the end of your material, cut along the folded piece, DONT cut your cording, go back to the top of your material and fold it down about 1.5cms and repeat the same process.

Baby shower nappies....completed!!YAY!!!

So I finished the baby shower nappies and apparently they were a hit at the shower.

Travel bag for Montana

Montana went away for the weekend and I made her a travel bag to put all her clothes in. She didn't take it :( My mum showed up with a disney princess suitcase on wheels. Oh well we can use it for other stuff. I used a tutorial on craftster with a few adjustments.
I stuffed it with a pillow for the photos :D

I also made a zippered bag for her toothbrush and toothpaste to match but Monty put her pencils and textas in it. Which now has resulted in Jacob drawing on it.

Twisted Creme Egg

I love Easter. I love it even more because Creme Eggs go back on the shelves, but I found something a little bit spectacular the other day and it was.......

although I am a tad bit disappointed that it doesn't taste as good as a Creme Egg, but you can get these all the time (possible not a good thing).

A list of my WIPs

Wow its been 10 days since my last post :O I thought while I'm sitting here waiting for the purple hair dye to set I might put up a list of everything that I'm working on at this moment. Apart from running a handmade nappy swap on NA and having entered into the Christmas swap aswell I also have:

  • 2 chalkboard travel mats for my brothers Austin and Memphis (very late birthday presents)
  • Some trainer pants for Austin and Memphis
  • A few newborn nappies for a baby shower (1 is complete, 1 is half done)
  • A friend of mine gave me a few fat 1/4s to make her girls some dresses/shirts/skirts, I have made one top, 2 dresses and a skirt so far
  • A dress for me (which is half done)
  • A christmas dress for Montana
  • A christmas nappy and shorts and shirt for Jacob
  • Christmas bunting
  • Montanas rainbow pettiskirt

I'm sure there are more things, this is all I can recall at the moment.

For the Fabric Addicts

This post is inspired by JJJ's Dr Karl. I saw him on ABC 3 this morning wearing a shirt his wife had made out of this fabric but in the red colourway (which I'm yet to get my hands on)

Our Kitties

Meet Sherbet

And Little Kitty

They have a pretty good life :D

Mumma Pads

So I dyed some more bamboo velour but smaller pieces and tried different techniques and also had a go at black, which didn't really work but I guess it would if it was left overnight.....maybe.

Well what am I going to make with these smaller pieces....why mumma pads of course.

All folded up,

They are a bit wonky in places, bamboo velour is a bit movey when sewing :D
