Editing Photos

I don't edit photos but decided last night to have a play around. I am now addicted to this type of editing...

Our Christmas outfits

I am a horrible blogger and just realised I didn't post our Christmas outfits. Well here they are....

I will do a more detailed post of my dress when I get more photos.

Hello Sailor Shorts

I love the look of high-waisted clothing and thought it wouldn't be too hard to make a pair of shorts. Wrong! I drew how I wanted them to look....

The first pic in lead pencil just weren't right, so I redrew getting the final green pic.

Then I measured myself and drafted a pattern, sewed up a mock pair of shorts from an old sheet and here came the problem. They fit really well apart from the enourmous gape at the back. It sat really low in the centre and had huge gape.

I played with the pattern for a bit and couldn't figure it out. It was doing my head in. So I jump onto a forum I frequent and ask for help. A lovely member linked me to a website that helped me solve the issue. Womens clothing is quite a challenge with our curves.

Here are my high waisted sailor shorts. To eliminate having a zipper I made the front panel with the buttons functional. They have fully lined pockets, darts in the back, some tiny pleats in the front and 6 fabric covered buttons >
